Shortlisted for the 2015 RIAI Public Choice Award, “House On A Tight Site” has been featured in the Sunday Times, Sunday Lifestyle magazine.
The article reads:
“House on a Tight Site, Malahide, Co Dublin.
This pint-sized 1910 single-storey cottage is unrecognisable from the rear after its reinvigoration by Amanda Bone and her team at Bone O’Donnell Architects. The entire site measured less than 2,100 sq ft, but the team pushed it to the boundary, raising ceiling heights and replacing a rear wall with an L-shaped, abundantly glazed addition to make this a dazzlingly bright house with two very different faces.
Lowering the rear plan by more than a half-metre allowed for the introduction of higher ceilings, and the addition of a full-height sliding door and a long roof light creates a link with the outdoors. “
