RESIDENTIAL
MEATH ROAD
Alterations & additions to a 1930’s detached single storey villa
Location:Meath Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow
Status:Completed 2005
Client:Private
The brief was to completely refurbish and open up the detached single storey
house to the East, South and West facing front, side and rear gardens, to
allow light to penetrate through the depth of the plan and to provide for new
living areas that connected directly with the South and West facing rear
gardens.
The existing extension was removed and the layout of the existing house was
altered to provide a formal living room and improved bedroom, bathroom &
dressing areas.
The original elements of the existing house were carefully restored and a new
L shaped timber clad open plan split level volume containing the new kitchen,
dining & living areas was connected directly to the existing hallway creating a
seamless transition between the new and the old whilst also bringing the
South light and a view of the rear garden directly into the entrance hallway.
| Floor Area of Existing House: | 129.5 M2 |
| Floor Area of Extension: | 30.5 M2 |
| Total Floor Area of House: | 160 M2 |
