The brief was to visually upgrade the existing vacant office building.
The objective was to present the building to an improving commercial office
market as flexible open plan offices, to be let on an office by office basis and
the works included the general approach to the building, the carpark, the
entrance, the lobby, the circulation spaces and the four number offices.
The building comprises of two floors with first floor offices over ground floor
retail with surface car parking.
The works included the design of new signage for the main entrance, general
refurbishment, redesign of the four individual open plan offices, mechanical
and electrical upgrade and a new layout for the carpark to the rear.
New powder coated aluminium signage with concealed lighting to the main
entrance leads into a lobby with a yellow marmoleum floor, which is continued
throughout the shared circulation areas to create an inviting and bright
atmosphere counteracting the lack of any natural light. All doors to all shared
facilities off the circulation areas including the toilets and kitchen are painted
in yellow to match the floor.
A controlled colour scheme throughout the building orders and demarcates
the more public & shared areas from the more private and individual offices.
The main entrance and fire doors on all the circulation spaces are painted
dark grey with the individual doors to the offices in a light grey with a grey
colour scheme to the walls in common areas and white to the four number
individual offices.
